These tomatoes originate form the west coast of South America, but were not widely embraced until 1800s.
Beefsteaks are perfect size for slicing on sandwiches and burgers but can also be used for cooking and roasting as they provide a savory tomato taste. They should be stored calyx down on the counter out of direct sunlight.
