History and Usage

While there is evidence that a cucumber variety dates back to 9750 BC in the Himalayas, the cucumber we know today originates in India around 2000 years ago as an inedible bitter fruit. The Long English cucumber was bred later and without the undesirable characteristic the slicing cucumber has like bitter taste, and tough outer skin.
Categorized as a burpless cucumber, it can be eaten raw without removing the seeds and pairs while with garlic, mango, goats cheese, sesame and is great in sandwiches or salads.
